Speak
Default and normal chat room operation.  Type a message in the entry area located beneath the main window and then click the enter key on your keyboard.  For example, if you enter "hey guys, what's up?" and then click enter on your keyboard, all users will see

        yourname says:
                hey guys, what's up?

Whisper
This is equivalent to private chat.  Click the Whisper icon, then in the user list o the right side, click the name of the user you want to whisper to.  Type a message in the entry area located beneath the main window and then click the enter key on your keyboard.  Messages entered in this mode are sent only to the selected user.  For example, if you are set to whisper to user "huskerlady" and enter "whatcha doing tonight?" and then click enter on your keyboard, only you and "huskerlady" will see

        yourname whispers to huskerlady:
                watcha doing tonight?

Thought
Use this feature to communicate thoughts without "speaking".  Type a message in the entry area, then click the Thought icon.  For example, if you enter "those guys are totally nuts" and then click the Thought icon, all users will see

        yourname thinks: those guys are totally nuts

Action
Use this feature to emulate an action.  Type a message in the entry area, then click the Action icon.  For example, if you enter "busts a chair over Geraldo's head" and then click the Action icon, all users will see

        yourname busts a chair over Geraldo's head

This user is a Host (Moderator)
This user is a Speaker (normal user)
This Speaker is currently being ignored by you

When you right-click on a user handle, certain options will appear depending upon your privileges:
    Change Nickname - change your own handle
    Get Identity - reveal user's source IP address
    Get Profile - show user's profile
    Ignore - ignore or cancel ignore towards user
    Version - Show user's CentralChat applet version ID
    Lag Time - Test communication speed for that user
    Local Time - Reveal user's local time (according to their PC)
    Kick - (Host only) kick user out of room
    Ban/Unban - (Host only) change user banning settings
    Host - (Host only) grant Host status to user
    Speaker - (Host only) revoke Host status from user
